In The Peace Country
Churches
Churches have been active in the Peace Country for one and a half centuries. During the fur trade era, missionaries from the Anglican and Roman Catholic faiths served the aboriginal population and the handful of Europeans that were in the area. They established a cathedral, parish churches, missions and schools.
During the homestead era, the population expanded rapidly. Different denominations became represented in the region. The following is a list of churches in our area now:
